0Russell Howard – Wonderbox Tour 2014
Well known stand-up comedian Russell Howard has announced his 2014 world tour titled “Wonderbox” which will see him touring 13 venues in the UK.
The tour will see him perform on 17 occasions in 13 different venues throughout the UK before then going over to Australia and America. Russell will finish the UK leg of his tour with four appearances at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall, Wembley Arena and the O2 Arena.
The comedian’s 2011 Right Here, Right Now Tour had to be extended 3 times due to high levels of demand as Howards popularity continued to rise. The Right here, Right now tour sold 300,000 arena tickets. His tour next year is likely to see a further increase in demand due to his hit TV show on BBC three, Russell Howard’s Good news. The comedian’s promoters have claimed that the first series of the show had up to five million viewers each week.
Russell Howard’s breakthrough came in 2006 when he won the “Best Host” at the 2006 Chortle Awards and was nominated for an if.comedy award at the 2006 Edinburgh Festival. Since he had numerous appearances in TV shows such as Mock the Week, 8 Out Of 10 Cats and Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
Howard is currently preparing for his tour and said: “It’s exciting, because right now I’m trying out loads of new material at small gigs where I’m not getting paid, so I can just rock up and throw shit against the wall.” Tickets for the Wonderbox tour 2014 go on general sale from 9:00 am on Friday, April 26th.
